The central manifestation within the celebration of 76 years since the establishment of the Institute of International Politics and Economics was the Solemn Academy. The Academy was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, ambassadors accredited in our country, university rectors, faculty deans, directors of scientific institutions, representatives of the academic community, local self-government and the media.

At the Solemn Academy, the guests were addressed by Dr. Jelena Begović, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Prof. Vladimir Cvetković, President of the Board of Directors and Prof. Branislav Đorđević, Director of the Institute.

In her congratulatory message, the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, appraised the Institute for its engagement and the results achieved for its successful work.

During the Academy, awards were given to individuals and institutions that made an outstanding contribution to the Institute. Acknowledgments of appreciation were conveyed to Milan Kojić, IIPE IT associate, Slavica Ćirović, IIPE Accounting affairs associate and “Stević Dulić” Law Office.  The Charters were handed to the former presidents of the Board of Directors, prof. Dr. Zoran Jeftic and Prof. Dr. Zlatko Stefanović, as well as the Institute of European Studies.

The Institute’s most significant award, the Great Plaquette, was awarded to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Republic of Serbia.

The annual award, which is given to an employee who has achieved exceptional work results during the year, belonged to Dr. Ivona Lađevac.

On behalf of the laureates, H.E. Mr. Bassel Salah, Ambassador of Egypt, addressed the audience.

Prof. Oliver Njego, the principal artist of the Belgrade Opera, performed in the artistic part of the program of the Solemn Academy.

The previous day, at a solemn meeting of employees, the results of the work of the Institute, the oldest and largest state scientific institution in the field of international relations in Europe, were presented, certificates were awarded to the sixteenth generation of volunteers as well awards to employees who achieved particularly significant results in their work during 2023.
