Ambassador Mohamed Abdel Hay El-Orabi, President of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, delivered an insightful online lecture titled “Middle East and North Africa in a Changing World”. The lecture was moderated by Dr. Ivona Lađevac, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Politics and Economics. At the beginning, Professor  Branislav Đorđević, the Director of the Institute, welcomed attendees and underscored the crucial role of sustained scientific cooperation between Egypt and Serbia, reinforcing the foundation of their historically positive bilateral relations.

Ambassador El-Orabi’s presentation covered a spectrum of topics, including the ongoing armed conflict in the Gaza Strip, the strategic rivalry among major powers in the Middle East and North Africa, and the increasing role of Egypt in mediating international crises.

In addition to the Institute’s researchers, the lecture was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as the interested academic public. The lecture was followed by the fruitful discussion.
