The Institute of International Politics and Economics hosted a meeting between representatives of the Chinese Association for International Friendship and Understanding (CAFIU), the China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE) and domestic organizations whose field of activity is to improve scientific and cultural cooperation with the People’s Republic of China. The CAFIU was represented by Dr. Zhu Jingfang and Dr. Zhu Lei, while Mrs. Liu Huici spoke on behalf of the CNIE.

Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević, chaired the meeting, which was attended by the IIPE representatives, Dr. Ivona Lađevac and Dr. Nenad Stekić, as well by Prof. Dr. Violeta Rašković Talović, Dean of the Faculty of International Politics and Security, then representatives of the Far East Society, Mr. Goran Vasiljević and Mrs. Marina Vasiljević, Dr. Bojan Lalić, Director of the Belt and Road Institute and Mr. Rade Drobac, former ambassador, representative of the Belgrade Forum of the World for Equals.

At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the Institute, pointed out the strong and fruitful longterm cooperation that the Institute of International Politics and Economics has been achieving with numerous Chinese partner organizations and expressed confidence that such a trend will continue in the future. The parties agreed that the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus stopped the high level of cooperation in the field of science and culture between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China and presented initial ideas for further deepening cooperation such as implementing joint scientific and cultural projects, increasing the mobility of researchers and organizing joint events until the end in 2023.
