Dr. Danilo Babić, researcher of the Centre for Neighbouring and Mediterranean Countries, presented his recently defended doctoral thesis by holding a lecture “Old and new global actors activity of in sub-Saharan Africa”.

As one of the starting problems on the African continent, he marked the borders, as a colonial legacy, while, during the debate, he referred to the institutional deficiencies and bad sides of the African Union.

Dr. Babić presented development models that respect the local cultural and economic peculiarities of Africa, but he also asked the question whether the new sub-Saharan actors offer something new to African countries. In this context, he pointed out the advantages that cooperation with China brings for African countries.
