The first round table “Global Processes and the Balkans in the Projections of Chinese Foreign Policy” was held within the newly initiated format “Dialogues on China”. Thus, a series of scientific gatherings dedicated to the international political, economic, and security aspects of the relations betwen the People’s Republic of China with the countries of the Western Balkans began. The first round table thematically included an analysis of the position of the Balkans in China’s increasingly dynamic foreign policy agenda, taking into account the global international processes that have taken place during 2021, as well as in several previous years.

Five speakers participated in the working part of the panel: Dr. Žarko Obradović, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Security Studies of the University of Belgrade, Dr. Senada Šelo Šabić, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Development and International Relations – IRMO from Zagreb, Dr. Dragan Pavlićević, Associate Professor at Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University from the Chinese city of Suzhou,  Dr. Milan Igrutinović, Research Fellow at the Institute of European Studies and Dr. Aleksandar Mitić, Research Fellow at Institute of International Politics and Economics.

The Research Fellow of IIPE, Dr. Miloš Petrović, as a panel commentator, systematized the key determinants of all presentations and introduced the participants to the fruitful discussion that followed.
