At the invitation of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), Dr. Marina Kostić Šulejić, Research Fellow of the Institute of International Politics and Economics, gave a lecture within the Leadership in International Security Course (LISC). The course participants were from the ministries of foreign affairs and defense of numerous countries, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and academia.

In the lecture “Case Study: Western Balkans”, Dr. Kostić Šulejić informed the attendees about the current political and security situation in the Western Balkans, the status of negotiations for EU membership, the relationship between NATO member states and Serbia and Republic of Srpska as militarily neutral, the relationship between Serbia and Croatia and the implications for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the process of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, North Macedonia’s relationship with Greece and Bulgaria, as well as the consequences of the Ukrainian crisis for the Western Balkans.
