Jovana Nikolić, MA, Research Assistant at the Institute of  International Politics and Economics, held the introductory lecture “The positions of the European Union during the Doha round of trade negotiations”.

Colleague Nikolić emphasized the importance of the Doha round within the WTO, but also the numerous shortcomings accompanying this negotiation process, focusing on the EU’s actions and the development of its positions during the negotiations. Through the analysis of the EU’s trade strategies and the change in its negotiating position, Jovana highlighted the transformation that the EU went through during these negotiations. During the discussion, the question of the EU’s role in the process of reforming the WTO and the effectiveness of this organization today was raised.
