As part of the IIPE Ambassadorial Forum lecture series, HE Mr Abdelhamid Chebchoub, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Serbia, delivered a lecture “African union – New challenges”. His Excellency Mr. Chebchoub presented the most important points in the founding history of the African Union, as well as the key challenges it faces, including the fight against the Corona virus, terrorism, and excessive use of weapons. Ambassador Chebchoub particularly highlighted Algeria’s efforts in developing the African Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), as well as the area of climate change risk management. The lecture was followed by a vivid discussion with a great number of questions. The lecture gathered representatives of the diplomatic corps, scholars, academicians, and IIPE researchers and alumni.
