Scholarship holder
Mariana Ećimović joined the Institute of International Politics and Economics in July 2025 as a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation. She is currently a PhD student in International and European Studies at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Relations from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) in Moscow. Her Master’s thesis examined “Security Issues in the Western Balkans (1995–2022)”.
Her research interests include international relations and international security, with a particular focus on the Western Balkans. In this context, she studies the Euro-Atlantic and European integration processes of the countries in the region, security issues, the role of regional and external actors in the Western Balkans, and regional cooperation.
Mariana is the author of several academic articles and has participated in a number of conferences, roundtables and seminars.
