The Institute of International Politics and Economics, in cooperation with the Institute for National Security and Military Studies at Austin Peay State University (USA) and the Institute of World History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, organized the international academic conference titled “80 Years Since the End of World War II: Changes in International Relations 1945–2025”.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević, Director of the Institute of International Politics and Economics; Dr. Mike Licari, the President of the Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees; Dr. Zhan Liang, Associate Director of the Institute of World History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Prof. Dr. Olga Lazorkina of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research; and Prof. Dr. Branko Krga, former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of FR Yugoslavia.
The working pаrt of the conference consisted of a keynote speech and two thematic panels. The keynote address, titled “The World War II and the Establishment of World Order: How International Relations Were Shaped from 1945 to 2025”, was delivered by Dr. Dušan Proroković, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
The first panel was dedicated to the impact of the Second World War on the creation and shaping of the international order, and it was moderated by Dr. Vladimir Trapara, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
The moderator of the second panel, titled “World War II – Causes and Consequences: A View from a Historical Distance”, was Dr. Slobodan Janković, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
