A delegation from Peking University, led by Vice President Prof. Dr. Ning Qi, visited the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
Dr. Katarina Zakić, Head of the “Belt and Road” Centre, presented the work and organizational structure of the Institute, emphasizing the significance of the COMPASS project and the international academic conference Dialogues on China, which are carried out by the Institute as part of its activities.
Prof. Dr. Ning Qi spoke about the role of Peking University in the academic life of the PR China and highlighted its achievements in international cooperation.
The main topic of the meeting with the Chinese colleagues was the political and economic cooperation between China and Serbia. In this context, Dr. Aleksandar Mitić spoke about the political dimension of the relationship, particularly underlining Serbia’s support for Chinese global initiatives. Dr. Katarina Zakić presented the most important outcomes of the economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing the need to further deepen ties in the fields of education and science.
Alongside the researchers from “Belt and Road” Centre, the meeting was also attended by research assistants and research associates of the IIPE.
