H.E. Mr Jan. Bondy, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Serbia, delivered a lecture entitled “Our safety is not taken for granted – ‘We will not fail until we stop trying’, Albert Einstein, Prague 1912“ as part of the Institute of International Politics and Economics flagship “Ambassadors’ Forum”.
Ambassador Bondy reflected on the rapidly changing international and geopolitical environment, emphasizing that the primary role of the state is, to ensure the security of its citizens. He underlined that security is not an alternative to prosperity but its necessary premise, especially in times of global uncertainty.
The Ambassador emphasized that upholding the principles of peace and security is essential for lasting regional stability and is a necessary condition for comprehensive development, investment, and economic growth. He highlighted cooperation between Serbia and Czech Republic in defence and science as key pillars for building future prosperity. Stressing the importance of resilience and readiness, he called for continued investment in security, recognizing the United States as a vital ally in transatlantic diplomacy and underscoring the role of a strong and united Europe. He concluded by noting that special moments bring unique opportunities and urged that good practices should never be allowed to go to waste.
The lecture was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, public institutions, the academic community, and researchers from the Institute.
