Library

The Library of Institute of International Politics and Economics is one of the largest libraries specialising in international relations. It contains more than 150,000 titles (books, periodicals and documents).
The work of the Library involves processing of monographs, journals and documents. Data are stored in three databases.The Library of Institute of International Politics and Economics is a public library accessible to scholars from all institutes, professors, students, public administration experts, diplomats, and other users interested in international relations. The Library has the access to the most important databases and e-journals.The Library comprises the general library and depositary libraries:

  • General library (books, journals and reference books),
  • International organisations documentation,
  • European Documentation Centre and
  • NATO library

Working hours: 10 am – 4 pm

General library (books, journals and reference books)

General library includes:

  • A database with over 32,000 entries,
  • Books treating international law,
    international political and economic relations,
  • Domestic and foreign periodicals from 46 countries and
  • Electronic periodicals.

More than 100 various periodicals are available at the Library.

  • American Journal of International Law,
  • Foreign Affairs,
  • Economie et Statistique,
  • Foreign Policy Review,
  • International Politik,
  • The International Spectator,
  • Politique étrangère,

Apart from this, in its holdings there are 318 dictionaries in 20 different languages.

United Nations Depository Library

The UN Depository Library was founded up in 1948 and it includes the majority of the printed materials published by this international organisation and its commissions and specialised agencies (Economic Commission for Europe, Economic Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Economic Commission for Africa, Economic Commission for Latin America, International Law Commission, UNCTAD, WTO, ILO, and others.

The European Documentation Centre

The European Documentation Centre is a depository library of the European Union and it has operated since 1968.
It contains EU publications, including its legislation from the time it was founded up to the present day.
Apart from monographs and periodicals, the following publications can also be founded here:

  • Official Journal of the European Communities,
  • European Court Reports: Reports of the European Community Staff Cases,
  • Bulletin of the European Union,
  • Reports of the Cases before the Court of Justice and the Court of the First Instance,
  • General Report on the Activities of the European Union.

NATO Library

The NATO Library has been the official depository library for Serbia since 2002 and it consists of some public publications of this organisation.
They are as follows:

  • NATO Handbook,
  • NATO Update,
  • Basic Texts,
  • Basic Fact Sheets,
  • Ministerial Communiqués,
  • Fellowships Reports,
  • Standardization Agreements.

Electronic periodicals:

Aims are:

  • acquisition of foreign scientific information,
  • transition from paper form to electronic issues,
  • improvement of access to electronic information

Limitation: latency from 6 months to 3 years. Also there is prohibition of copying whole issues.

This is electronic service for access to 12 data bases. Some of them are for economics. Texts are in full format from 1960.
