Dr. Jelica Gordanić, Senior Research Associate at the Institute, participated via Microsoft Teams in the VIII International Congress “Identification and Consequences of the General Interests of the International Community: The Contribution of Europe and America” (Identificación y consecuencias de los intereses generales de la comunidad internacional: Aportación de Europa y América).

The congress was held on July 17 and 18, 2026, at the Spanish College in Paris, organized by the Charles III University of Madrid and the Center for Ibero-American Studies of the King Juan Carlos University.

Dr. Gordanić presented on the topic “The Digital Divide and Sustainable Development Goals: Significance for the International Community.” Emphasizing that overcoming the digital divide is a prerequisite for achieving the 2030 Agenda, Jelica’s presentation focused particularly on specific Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education (SDG 4), Gender Equality (SDG 5), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), while providing a critical overview of the most significant United Nations initiatives aimed at addressing this issue.

The event gathered researchers from France, Spain, Poland, Morocco, Serbia and Switzerland, providing a platform for academic dialogue on the most important challenges of the contemporary international community.
