Researchers from the Institute of International Politics and Economics participated in the seminar “The Global Significance of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,” held at the Institute for Political Studies and co‑organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade and the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State”.
The event, attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Dejan Vuk Stanković, was opened with a lecture by the Ambassador of the PR China, H.E. Li Ming, delivered on the eve of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and emphasizing the importance of properly understanding the modern vision of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Ambassador Ming underlined that the principles of Xi Jinping Thought encompass all aspects of reform, development and stability, internal and external policy and national defencee, as well as the governance of the party, the state and the army, and that they are of reference significance for all countries in the world amid major geopolitical changes.
On behalf of the Centre for Chinese Studies of the Institute of International Politics and Economics, Senior Research Fellow Dr. Aleksandar Mitić gave a speech. The head of the Centre and Senior Research Fellow Dr. Katarina Zakić, and Senior Research Fellow Dr. Nenad Stekić took an active part in the debate.
The seminar also featured contributions by Prof. Dr. Dragana Mitrović from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Uroš Šuvaković from the Teacher Education Faculty, Principal Research Fellows of the Institute for Political Studies Prof. Dr. Milomir Stepić and Prof. Dr. Ljubiša Despotović, as well as the Director of the Institute of Contemporary History, Prof. Dr. Predrag Marković.
