IIPE researcher, MA Isidora Pop-Lazić, participated in the 31st International Scientific Conference “Regional Development and Demographic Flows”, held on 26 June 2026 at the Faculty of Economics University of Niš. On this occasion, she presented her paper “Electoral Constituency Reform in the Republic of Croatia: Between Demographic Adjustment and Political Engineering”.
The conference was held under the auspices of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) for the first time and brought together researchers from more than 30 institutions across around ten countries.
The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Vladislav Marjanović, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Niš, Prof. Dr Valentina Ivanić, Economics Institute, Belgrade & European Regional Science Association – Serbia, Prof. Dr Ana Vinuela of the University of Oviedo, Regional Science Association International (RSAI), and Mauro Di Veroli, Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia.
The keynote lectures were delivered by Dr. Hans Westlund of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and Dr. Edvard Jakopin, the Serbian Association of Economists.
Ms. Pop-Lazić participated in the panel entitled “The Demographic Future of the European Area: Between Depopulation and New Migration Paradigms”, chaired by Prof. Dr. Suzana Đukić. The panel focused on contemporary demographic flows, depopulation, and emerging migration patterns across Europe.
