The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University, in cooperation with the China Institute of International Studies, organized an international symposium entitled “China-CEEC Cooperation in the New Era” on June 23 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The symposium, which was held in a hybrid format, was attended by researchers from nine countries: China, Bulgaria, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, and Croatia. IIPE researchers Dr. Katarina Zakić, Dr. Ivona Lađevac, and MA Jovana Nikolić attended the symposium on behalf of the Center for China Studies. Dr. Zakić gave a presentation on the topic “China-CEEC Investment Cooperation.”
The conference participants discussed topics related to economic relations between China and Central and Eastern European countries, the EU and China, and China’s relations with the countries of the Global South. In addition, the speakers addressed the current geopolitical processes in international relations that impact China’s economic cooperation with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
