IIPE Senior Research Fellow, Dr. Dušan Proroković, participated on 20 June in Banja Luka at the scientific and professional conference “New Military Alliances in the Western Balkans – Between Sovereigntism and Globalism”, organized by the Association “Centre for Lobbying”.
A researcher spoke about changes in the macro-regional geopolitical environment and their possible consequences for the security of the Balkans.
In his presentation, Dr. Proroković particularly emphasized the importance of great and regional powers for the security architecture of the Balkans and analyzed changing trends in European politics. These changes have largely been induced by the escalation of crises in Ukraine and the Middle East, indicating the growing interdependence and interconnectedness of the Balkans with other geopolitical hotspots.
