The Acting Director of the Institute of International Politics and Economics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Gordana Mišev, together with Dr. Katarina Zakić, Head of the Centre for Chinese Studies, and Dr. Jelica Gordanić, received H. E. Mr. Abhishek Shukla, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Serbia, on an official visit.

During the meeting, the Institute’s representatives acquainted Ambassador Shukla with the history and research activities of the Institute, with particular emphasis on cooperation agreements concluded with related academic institutions in India.

Ambassador Shukla underlined the deep historical ties between Serbia and India, forged during the period of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and nurtured through joint engagement within the Non-Aligned Movement. He stressed the importance of continued dialogue, the need to establish lasting and regular mechanisms of cooperation, as well as the value of intensifying mutual researcher exchanges.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore potential joint initiatives and projects, including the organisation of academic conferences.

Mr. Shukla accepted the invitation to deliver a lecture in the period ahead as part of the Ambassadorial Forum, a format traditionally organised by the Institute.
