Senior Research Fellow Dr. Dušan Proroković participated on May 5 and 6 at the international conference “Yerevan Dialogue 2026” organized by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The conference was opened by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the President of France Emmanuel Macron, and among the keynote speakers was the Head of Serbian Diplomacy Marko Đurić.
This year’s gathering in Yerevan was organized after the summit of the European Political Community, gathered more than 200 participants from over 30 countries and was dedicated to the topics of changing the balance of power in international relations, key issues of international security and the place of Europe in the modern world.
During the discussions with the participants, Dr. Proroković emphasized that in the context of comparative geopolitics, regional security and international relations, there are numerous similarities between the Caucasus and the Balkans, and that therefore the exchange of experiences, closer cooperation and the organization of joint research are necessary. In addition to numerous similarities, the importance of the South Caucasus subregion is also reflected in its geographical location, which is gaining importance in conditions of increased tensions in the Middle East, and for this reason it is necessary to monitor further developments and examine how they may be reflected in the Balkans.
