The Fourth Memorial Scientific and Professional Conference “Predrag Marić”, dedicated to the founder and first Head of the Emergency Management Sector of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia was held at the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
The conference was organized by the Institute of International Politics and Economics, the Faculty of Security Studies of the University of Belgrade, the University of Belgrade, and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia.
The event brought together representatives of institutions, the academic community, and security experts, with the aim of preserving the memory of Predrag Marić while promoting the values he stood for, expertise, responsibility, and commitment to the public good. It was emphasized that his legacy continues through the development of the protection and rescue system, as well as through the public trust this sector enjoys among citizens.
Participants highlighted the importance of his contribution to improving risk management and security systems, as well as Predrag Marić’s role in establishing professional standards in this field. The conference included scientific and professional as well as practical panels, and awards were presented for the best scientific paper and for outstanding contributions to the development of disaster risk reduction systems.
