Due to the observance of White Week in the liturgical calendar, the Institute of International Politics and Economics marked its Patron Saint’s Day, dedicated to St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming, four days later than the traditional date.
St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming (Stefan Nemanja), the founder of the Nemanjić dynasty, is regarded as one of the most prominent rulers in Serbian medieval history. Together with his son, St. Sava, he laid the foundations of the Serbian Orthodox Church and significantly shaped the spiritual and statehood legacy of medieval Serbia.
The host of this year’s Patron Saint’s Day celebration was Dr. Mitko Arnaudov, Research Fellow at the Institute.
