The “6th International Workshop on Leadership and Stability” was held in Islamabad from 9 to 14 February 2026, organized by the Institute for Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis of the National Defence University. The workshop brought together approximately one hundred participants from 49 countries.
The Institute of International Politics and Economics was represented by its Director, Prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević, and Deputy Director, Dr. Ivona Lađevac.
Through five plenary sessions and numerous working sessions, participants engaged in discussions on the transformation of the global order, emerging global trends, Pakistan’s economic and cultural potential, and the fabrication of reality through the (mis)use of the media. Divided into six working groups, participants jointly prepared presentations on assigned topics, which were delivered on the final day of the workshop.
During the programme, participants had the opportunity to meet with the President of the National Defence University, General Babar Iftikhar.
In addition to visits to sites of cultural, historical, and scientific significance — including the Pakistan Monument, Faisal Mosque, the National Museum, and the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) — the hosts organized a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the delegation met with the Spokesperson, Ambassador Tahir Andrabi. The programme also included a visit to the Parliament and a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Syedaal Khan Nasar, as well as a meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.
On the final day of the workshop, a lecture was delivered by Dr. Moeed Yusuf, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on National Security and Strategic Planning. He subsequently presented certificates to participants upon the successful completion of the workshop.
