Institute of International Politics and Economics (IIPE) marked 74 years of its work, during which it organized more than 500 scientific conferences and published over 600 studies.

The importance of the contribution of the largest and oldest state scientific institution in the field of international relations in Europe was emphasized in their congratulations by, among others, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ružić and Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković.

During the online meeting convened on the occasion of the anniversary, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Prof. Marijana Dukić-Mijatović addressed to the Institute’s employees while the last ten years in scientific and publishing activities were presented on the Institute’s website.

Director of the IIPE, Prof. Branislav Đorđević, pointed out that the Institute, despite the pandemic, managed to fulfill the entire scientific research program.

“Of special importance is the ambassadorial conference held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement, in which 29 ambassadors took part, which has not been recorded in the history of the Institute,” said director Đorđević.

He informed the employees that,  at the beginning of December, the IIPE was accepted into the membership of the “Alliance of International Scientific Organizations”, which brings together dozens of scientific and higher education institutes around the world.

On the occasion of the Institute’s Day, praises and recognitions were presented to the employees. The annual award of the Institute for achievements in work, commitment to the workplace, respect for work discipline and contribution to the development of interpersonal relations in 2021 was given to Dr. Katarina Zakić, Research Associate and Head of the Center of Belt and Road Studies
