Researchers from the Institute of International Politics and Economics (IIPE) successfully completed the workshop on China’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy, organized by CISTRAT training and research centre on STI policy under the auspices of UNESCO.

The month-long workshop by CISTRAT (International Research and Training Center for Science and Technology Strategy), a center based at the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED) in Beijing, consisted of lectures by some of China’s leading experts from national research institutions and companies such as Alibaba and Kuaishou.

Topics ranged from cooperation in the fight against COVID-19, to STI policy reform, the use of artificial intelligence and the concept of smart cities.

Four IIPE researchers took part in the workshop – research fellows Dr. Katarina Zakić, Dr. Nataša Stanojević, Dr. Aleksandar Mitić as well as research associate MA Nenad Stekić.

The workshop was also attended by participants from other Belt and Road countries, such as Egypt, Malaysia, Pakistan, Mongolia, Cambodia and Brunei, as well as researchers from Chinese academic institutions and companies.
