Aljoša Milenković, a prominent Serbian television journalist with international media experience, delivered an online lecture “Media – New Church and Other” for employees of the Institute of International Politics and Economics. Mr Milenković focused his lecture on the essential features of manipulative techniques that appear today in the print and electronic media. He analysed several recent cases from foreign and domestic media to explain how information shaping techniques are applied with the aim to spin a certain attitude in the public. During the Q&A part of the lecture, the audience was most interested in Milenković`s views, based on his personal professional experience long more than a quarter of a century, about some well-known examples of media manipulation, and whether independent and objective reporting is possible.
